Josef Norris is a writer, illustrator and mosaic muralist based in San Francisco.  He has written 8 graphic novels and is currently working on a graphic novel series entitled:   “While Father Was Away”, about a man serving time in federal prison who writes letters home to his young son. He is also an award-winning mural artist who has created over 90 large-scale mosaic and painted murals in San Francisco and Philadelphia. He is the director and founder of Kid Serve, an arts education program conducting public art residencies in San Francisco. He is the recipient of the Jefferson Award for Community Engagement and grants from the California Arts Council, Starbucks Foundation, Walter & Elise Haas Fund, San Francisco Foundation, the NEA and San Francisco Community Challenge Programs.
